We Are Hiring!

CatholicCare NT is looking for a dynamic and committed Primary Prevention Coordinator to join the NO MORE team in Darwin (Berrimah). This full-time role includes occasional after-hours and weekend work, travel to other NT towns and remote communities, and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to real, community-led change across the Northern Territory.
What Does the Role Involve?
The Primary Prevention Coordinator leads efforts to prevent domestic, family and sexual violence by working with sporting clubs, workplaces and community groups to develop Domestic and Family Violence Action Plans (DVAPs) and deliver community education. These DVAPs outline practical, local actions organisations can take to promote safety, respect and accountability.
A typical day may include:
- Supporting a local footy club to finalise its DVAP
- Delivering a DFV awareness workshop to a workplace
- Helping plan a NO MORE Round or community event
- Creating promotional content or updating educational resources
- Travelling to Katherine, Tennant Creek or a remote community to support a local initiative
The role also has a strong communications and marketing component, including developing education tools, social media content, and campaign materials that help spread the NO MORE message and engage the community in meaningful ways.
Why It Matters?
This role focuses on primary prevention—addressing the root causes of domestic and family violence before it happens. It supports community-led responses that promote equality, challenge disrespect, and shift the attitudes that allow violence to occur.
Whether it’s working alongside club champions, supporting men’s groups in remote communities, or helping an organisation launch its first DVAP, the Primary Prevention Coordinator is a key part of building a safer NT.
Is This You?
This role would suit someone with experience in community development, education, DFV prevention, public health or communications. Strong people skills, cultural competency—particularly with Aboriginal communities—and a belief in grassroots action are essential.
