NAIDOC Week Rugby League Deadly-Cup Carnival

The NAIDOC Week Rugby League Deadly-Cup Carnival was held on Sunday 13 November 2020 at Rugby Park.

The Hon Ngaree Ah Kit, Speaker of the NT Legislative Assembly, the Hon. Kate Worden MLA, Minister for Territory Families, Richard Fejo - Larrakia Elder and, Director of Deadly Enterprises Shaun Tatipata, all led the linking of arms in support of No More violence.  Larrakia dancers (pictured) insisted on linking arms to show their support for No More.

There were 13 teams ranging from U14 to seniors. Teams marched onto the field at the commencement of proceedings through a smoking ceremony as a part of NAIDOC Week with over 2000 people attending.

Charlie King spoke to the assembled teams and the crowd about the scourge of family violence and how even small things can make a difference.

Charlie presented Spirit of the Game medals to a player from each team chosen by the referees.
